Vitality Wellness Therapeutic Clinic is currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Counselor to join our team in a full-time, remote capacity. The ideal candidate will focus on providing specialized mental health care to individuals dealing with trauma, positioning them to significantly impact patient recovery and well-being.

Our team specializes in addressing complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and dissociative disorders, utilizing evidence-based practices to facilitate recovery and resilience.
Work Environment\nOur outpatient office provides a supportive and collaborative remote work environment, emphasizing the importance of flexibility to meet patient needs. You will work alongside a multidisciplinary team of mental health professionals who share a common goal of delivering high-quality, trauma-informed care. Your typical work schedule will be Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some variability based on patient availability and appointment requirements.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct comprehensive, trauma-informed assessments to evaluate patients' trauma histories, identifying individualized treatment approaches. \n
- Design and implement tailored treatment plans aimed at trauma recovery and the development of coping strategies for patients. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to aid patient healing. \n
- Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions that encourage patients to process trauma and foster resilience. \n
- Cooperate with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to integrate care for patients, ensuring a holistic approach to mental health. \n
- Provide crisis intervention and immediate support for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies. \n
- Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, coping mechanisms, and available community resources to facilitate recovery. \n
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in alignment with legal and ethical standards. \n
- Engage actively in case consultations and team meetings, contributing insights and strategies that enhance patient care. \n
- Stay informed on the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to improve practice and outcomes. \n
You will primarily work with individuals who have experienced trauma, including those dealing with PTSD, complex trauma responses, and various dissociative disorders. Your role is essential in creating healing narratives and providing strategies that empower clients on their path to recovery.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current, valid licensure in the state of Illinois as an LCSW, LCPC, or LMFT. \n
- Strong foundational knowledge of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies. \n
- Experience with trauma-focused therapeutic techniques preferred. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy and a non-judgmental approach. \n
- The ability to manage high-stress situations with professionalism and composure. \n
- Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and applicable technology. \n
- A collaborative mindset and the capability to thrive in multidisciplinary team settings. \n
A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience providing mental health counseling is strongly preferred. Familiarity with specific trauma-informed practices and evidence-based therapeutic techniques will be advantageous in effectively meeting patient needs.
