Orthodontic Clinical Assistant

Schedule Monday–Friday |7:20 AM – 4:40 PM Lunch:11:40 AM – 12:40 PM(dependent on patient care needs) Alternating administrative day(s) off (as scheduled) Position Summary The Orthodontic Clinical Assistant supports the orthodontist and clinical team by preparing for patient visits, assisting during procedures, completing clinical documentation, maintaining infection control standards, and ensuring an exceptional patient experience. Key Responsibilities Patient Care & Chairside Support Assist the orthodontist during treatment and procedures Prepare patients for visits and support pre-visit steps Provide patient education and reinforcement of home-care instructions Maintain a calm, positive, and professional chair-side presence Clinical Flow & Operatory Readiness Set up and break down chairs to support efficient patient flow Maintain operatory readiness throughout the day Support smooth transitions and teamwork across clinical roles Imaging & Digital Workflow Take and processx-raysand clinicalphotographsas assigned Take and processintraoral scans Maintain digital workflow standards and file accuracy Support patient tracking, imaging, and documentation systems Documentation & Compliance Complete accurate treatment notes and documentation in the patient record Update medical/dental history forms with patients as needed Follow sterilization, infection control, and safety protocols consistently Additional Clinical Support Clean retainers and aligners for patients as needed Support practice promotions/special projects Use digital checklists for daily/weekly/monthly tasks Perform other duties as assigned to support Certifications (Preferred/Required as applicable) X-ray Certification (Required) CPR Certification Infection Control Certification Dental Assisting National Board (DANB) License SOA (Specialized Orthodontic Assistant) or COA (Certified Orthodontic Assistant) Comfortable with computers and clinical documentation Skills & Abilities Strong teamwork, professionalism, and patient-first mindset Clear communication with doctors, team members, patients, parents, and referring offices Detail-oriented, organized, and dependable in a busy environment Confident problem-solving and willingness to take initiative Benefits Health Insurance Paid Time Off (PTO) 401(k) Bonuses Uniform Allowance State College Orthodontics is an Equal Opportunity Employer | Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr
