Exciting Opportunity for an Interventional Cardiologist in Phoenix!

Our organization is currently seeking an Interventional Cardiologist to join the Phoenix VA Health Care System (PVAHCS) in Phoenix, Arizona. As a site for Cardiology fellowship and Internal Medicine residency rotations, we collaborate with the University of Arizona and Dignity Health on VA-led research initiatives. Our state-of-the-art research facilities include the Million Veterans Program, a pioneering study aimed at enhancing Veteran care and advancing medical science. Work ScheduleMonday to Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Compensation and Benefits- Salary: Competitive pay, along with an annual performance bonus and regular salary increases.
- Paid Time Off: Enjoy 50-55 days of paid time off annually, which includes 26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid federal holidays, and potentially 5 days for continuing medical education (CME).
- Retirement: Access to a traditional federal pension (with a 5-year vesting period) and a federal 401k plan with contributions of up to 5% from the organization.
- Insurance: Comprehensive federal health, vision, dental, term life, and long-term care insurance options (many of which can be carried into retirement).
- CME: Possible reimbursement of up to $1,000 per year for continuing medical education expenses.
- Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP): Eligible for a student loan repayment program offering up to $200,000.
- Malpractice: Liability protection is provided at no cost, including tail coverage.
- Contract: No employment contract required for physicians, with minimal restrictions on moonlighting.
- A Doctor of Medicine degree or an equivalent qualification in medicine or osteopathic medicine.
- Possession of one full and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state or territory, with the requirement to maintain an active status.
- U.S. citizenship is mandatory; non-citizens may only be considered if qualified citizens cannot be recruited, in accordance with VA policy.
- Subject to a background and security investigation.

* Board certification is required to qualify for the 5 days off for CME.
** The Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) is available for this position, allowing for student loan repayment. Eligibility requirements must be met according to VHA policy, and applications must be submitted within four months of starting. Approval, award amounts (up to $200,000), and eligibility periods (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after a thorough review of the application. Previous participants are not eligible for this incentive.
