The NDC Manager is responsible for performing detailed work requiring considerable judgement in supervising the technical and administrative operations of neighborhood donor center collections facility. Comply with all organizational policies and standards, including safety rules, and be willing to report actual and potential violations to the appropriate supervisor or manager. Responsibilities Oversee the technical and administrative functions related to the operation of the donor collection facility. Ensure compliance with Standard Operating Procedures and regulations. Perform pre‑donation screening, venipuncture, and post‑venipuncture care of donors in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure accurate, legible completion of donor records in a timely manner. Perform necessary troubleshooting during technical procedures. Review and approve donor and operational documentation for accuracy and correctness. Maintain acceptable level of proficiency in required phlebotomy and apheresis procedures. Enforce the Blood Center's policies on EEO, AAP and Safety/Health. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; associate degree from an accredited college or university strongly preferred. LVN/RN desirable. Two years of phlebotomy experience. One year of apheresis experience including platelet apheresis. Data analysis plus previous supervisory experience (one year) or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificate of Phlebotomy strongly preferred. EMT Certification or associate degree in a related field strongly preferred. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, close vision and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and blood and/or blood components, as well as any other biohazard materials. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Job duties involve an inherent potential for mucous membrane or skin contact with blood with a risk of exposure to Hepatitis and HIV.
