Job Description
The Heavy Equipment and Truck Mechanic for drilling rigs plays a crucial role in maintaining and repairing heavy machinery to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This position involves working closely with a small maintenance team and reporting directly to the Operations Manager. The mechanic will handle various mechanical challenges, from engine repairs to welding, while adhering to stringent safety standards to support drilling operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform equipment maintenance and engine repairs on drilling rigs
- Conduct diagnostic testing and troubleshoot mechanical issues
- Maintain and repair hydraulic systems
- Execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce downtime
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks for repairs and modifications
- Ensure compliance with safety standards during all tasks
- Replace parts and conduct emergency repairs as needed
- Lead a small maintenance team, fostering communication and collaboration
- Keep detailed records of maintenance and repairs
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair
- Valid driver's license
- Proficiency in diesel engine repair
- Experience with hydraulic systems and preventive maintenance
- Skilled in using diagnostic tools and welding/fabrication techniques
- Strong adherence to safety compliance
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and physical stamina
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment
