If you're looking to grow your skills, take on meaningful challenges, and make a real impact, Excel Engineering offers the opportunity to do just that.Role OverviewPartner with clients to define project scope, develop engineering concepts, and prepare accurate cost estimates and proposalsExecute detailed electrical engineering designs on single and multi-discipline project teamsDesign complex industrial electrical systems in compliance with NEC, NFPA, UL, and other applicable regulatory standardsPrepare complete construction documents for permitting and bidding, including utility interconnections, power distribution, lighting, instrumentation, and fire alarm systemsDevelop and review one-line diagrams, motor load lists, electrical plan views, termination schedules, and panel schedulesSpecify, size, and select electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, MCCs, motors, cables, and protective devicesDesign and coordinate electrical protection schemes, including overcurrent protection and protective relay settingsPerform and oversee field site visits, construction observation, commissioning support, and system troubleshootingManage project budgets, schedules, and resource allocation to ensure client satisfaction and business objectives are metMentor and provide technical leadership to junior and mid-level electrical engineers and designersWillingness to travel up to 25%, as required by project needsRequirementsEducationMinimum of 6+ years of experience in electrical engineering; industrial electrical design experience requiredBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution (or equivalent experience)ExperiencePreferred industry experience includes Manufacturing, Consumer Goods, Renewable Energy, Gas Processing, Chemical, Power, Waste Management, or Pharmaceutical facilitiesStrong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 70E, and other applicable standardsProficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical or Eplan Electric P8Proficiency in SKM Power Tools, ETAP, Powerworld or other similar power system modeling softwareExperience with SEL Accelerator software, SEL RTAC and SEL RelaysProfessional Engineer (PE) license preferred or ability to obtain licensure within one yearStrong knowledge of MS OfficeWe offer…• Growth & Development: Ongoing continuing education, hands-on training, and opportunities to expand your skills.• Career Advancement Support: Assistance in earning professional certifications and pursuing further education.• Retirement Benefits: 401(k) plan with employer matching.• Comprehensive Health Coverage: Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance options.• Wellness Focus: Access to programs designed to support your overall well-being.• Work–Life Balance: Paid time off and flexible work environment• Flexibility & Trust: A flexible schedule and work environment built around mutual trust and accountability.• Share the Talent, Share the Rewards: We value great people recommending great people, which is why our employee referral program is designed to reward you continuouslyWe offer a competitive salary and great benefits.
