Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Medical/Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2+ years License: State License Required Certifications: ACLS Must-Have Skills/Experience: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Preferred experience on a medical/surgical unit Description: This position is for a registered nurse specializing in medical and surgical care. The nurse will provide care to adult and geriatric patients. Patient ratios are between 5:1 and 6:1. The unit is equipped with telemetry monitors, IV pumps, bladder scanners, and vital sign monitors. The electronic health record system used is Cerner. Candidates must hold a valid state license and current ACLS certification. A bachelor's degree is required for this position. The dress code includes galaxy blue scrubs, and excessive jewelry and offensive tattoos must be covered. The role may include occasional floating to similar units as needed. This position requires strong critical thinking and the ability to deliver care independently. The work environment can be fast-paced and high-stress, demanding a proactive approach to patient care. Rotating weekend shifts are expected for this role. Candidates should be prepared to adapt to the dynamic nature of a medical/surgical unit.
