EH&S Senior Manager Environmental Join Amgen in a vital role that delivers world‑class environmental leadership and client support across the company’s growing network. You will lead global environmental compliance management programs and support the development of innovative and compliant solutions to enable business growth while ensuring regulatory excellence. Key Responsibilities Support Amgen’s expanding business by ensuring innovative, compliant, and efficient facility design, execution, and operational readiness. Actively participate in Capital Project Environmental assessments and design processes. Apply a "Plan, Do, Check, Act" digital management systems approach to monitor and continuously improve environmental program performance. Serve as a global program manager and subject‑matter expert in air quality, regulated waste management, hazardous material transportation, and wastewater compliance. Provide expert guidance, enable the business, and solve complex environmental challenges. Build inspired teams to maintain world‑class environmental performance while supporting patient‑focused goals. Implement global environmental management systems to assure compliance with all regulatory requirements and authorizations. Liaise with regulatory agency representatives, suppliers, and other external stakeholders. Integrate with Engineering, Operations, and EHS teams to execute compliance programs and align practices across the network. Investigate environmental incidents and ensure robust corrective and preventive actions. Provide environmental expertise for risk assessments of new and existing systems and processes. Prepare EHS governance dashboards and provide guidance to functional leadership. Evaluate regulatory changes, leading development of compliance plans and processes. Qualifications High school diploma / GED and 12 years of EHSS or Engineering experience Associate degree and 10 years of EHSS or Engineering experience Bachelor’s degree and 8 years of EHSS or Engineering experience Master’s degree and 6 years of EHSS or Engineering experience Doctorate degree and 2 years of EHSS or Engineering experience Advanced Engineering, Scientific, or Environmental Management degree and 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry leading EHSS programs. Advanced EHS certifications (e.g., Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, Certified Environmental Professional, Board Certified Environmental Engineer). Demonstrated success managing Environmental Compliance programs, due diligence, management systems, and Capital Project design. Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to integrate programs across functions. Continuous improvement mindset with proven success in maturing programs. Proficiency in Microsoft365 Suite, Smartsheet, and EHS management system software.
