Quick Facts Location: Creighton University Medical Center / Bergan Mercy, Omaha, NE Start Date: 06/05/2026 End Date: Ongoing through December 2026 Shift: Unrestricted overnight and weekend call, 8-10 hours/day Hours per Week: Flexible based on assignment needs Employment Type: Locum / Contract Licenses/Certifications: Cardiac Anesthesiology fellowship, TEE certification, advanced perioperative echocardiography testamur Experience: Minimum 5 years CV anesthesia experience if fellowship not completed Pay & Benefits Pay: Competitive per diem rates (rates based on specific service provided; to be discussed upon application) Benefits: Weekly pay schedule via direct deposit Comprehensive medical benefits (W-2) Paid sick time in line with applicable state and federal laws Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated support team from VHS What You’ll Do Provide cardiac anesthesiology services for open heart, thoracic, vascular, and structural heart surgeries Perform and interpret transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) in high-acuity settings Support general OR procedures as needed—handling complex cases in a large academic trauma center Assist with preoperative evaluations and intraoperative management of adult patients Collaborate with cardiac surgeons and multidisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes Participate in on-call rotations for cardiac surgery and general anesthesia cases Maintain compliance with facility protocols and documentation, utilizing Epic EMR system What You Need Required: Board Certified/Eligible in Anesthesiology with Cardiac Fellowship or equivalent TEE certification and testamur in advanced perioperative echocardiography (NBE) Licensed or eligible to obtain licensure in Nebraska Minimum of 5 years CV anesthesia experience, with supporting recommendations if fellowship not completed Preferred: Prior experience in a Level 1 Trauma or academic hospital setting Comfortable managing both cardiac and general anesthesia cases independently About the Assignment Join a dedicated team at a premier Level 1 Trauma / Academic center in Omaha, NE, serving adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.
