Sr. Mechanical Engineering Technician, Endoscope

Senior mechanical engineering technician supporting prototype development for endoscopic instruments. Role involves fabrication, assembly, testing, and documentation of prototypes using manufacturing equipment and specialized techniques in a medical device R&D environment.

Responsibilities

• Support all phases of prototype development from fabrication through assembly and inspection
• Operate standard manufacturing equipment to build and modify prototype components
• Conduct debugging and performance testing of engineering prototypes
• Create test fixtures and assembly fixtures while informing production fixture design
• Document assembly procedures and train technicians on prototype assembly methods

Requirements

• Minimum 8 years supporting mechanical engineering in product development
• Associate of Science degree or equivalent work experience
• Proficiency in prototyping and manufacturing methods including machining, laser welding, and soldering
• Expertise with catheter materials and processes such as laminating, braiding, and bonding
• Fine manual dexterity for microscopic assembly and component inspection
• Metrology equipment competency including calipers, micrometers, and vision systems
• Microsoft Office proficiency; Solidworks experience preferred
