English Adjunct Instructor

Sacred Heart Universitys Department of English in the College of Arts & Sciences invites applications for Adjunct Instructors committed to engaging students through literature writing critical inquiry and meaningful classroom Department of English offers a diverse curriculum in language literature culture and creative expression. Our faculty foster a collaborative learning environment where students strengthen their written and oral communication critical thinking and literary analysis while exploring fundamental questions of the humanities and liberal Instructors will primarily support courses within the Universitys core curriculum including First Year Writing Seminar which develops foundational writing and communication skills for first-year students and Experiencing Literature (ENG 201) which introduces students to literary expression from around the world through fiction nonfiction poetry and drama while developing close reading critical thinking and analytical writing these courses give Adjunct Instructors an opportunity to engage students across disciplines and strengthen the communication analytical and interpretive skills that support their academic and professional :MA MFA Ph.D. or other appropriate graduate degree in English or a closely related commitment to excellence in undergraduate to teach foundational writing and/or literature courses outside a narrow area of college-level teaching experience to fostering a collegial and supportive learning environment that reflects the Universitys mission and Instructions:Qualified applicants are invited to submit a letter of interest current CV statement of teaching philosophy and relevant examples from courses taught (if applicable).
