Bonus potential. Responsibilities Know and conform to the Nurse Practice Act for the State of Texas. Utilize a systematic approach to provide individualized, goal-directed nursing care by performing comprehensive nursing assessments, making nursing diagnoses, developing a plan of care based on the assessment and nursing diagnosis, implementing nursing care, and evaluating the patient’s responses to nursing interventions. Delegate tasks to unlicensed personnel in compliance with the Texas Nurse Practice Act, considering patient safety and the education, experience, and abilities of the person assigned. Implement measures to promote a safe environment and administer medications and treatments correctly, with understanding of their rationale and effects. Maintain required documentation of patient care and unit activities in accordance with standards. Clarify any order or treatment regimen that may be inaccurate, non-efficacious, or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when deciding not to administer the medication or treatment. Institute nursing interventions to stabilize a patient\u2019s condition and/or prevent complications. Qualifications Education and Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program. No experience required. Licenses and Certifications: Current RN license in the State of Texas; BLS certification; unit-specific competencies obtained within six months of hire.
