- Oversee day-to-day operations
- Help design strategy and set goals for growth
- Set policies and processes
- Ensure employees work productively, arrive to work on time, and develop professionally
- Oversee recruitment and training of new employees
- Evaluate and improve operations and financial performance
- Direct the employee assessment process
- Prepare regular reports for ownership
- Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations
- Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors)
- Create a culture of continuous improvement with trying new processes and methods
- Shop maintenance items and inventory replenishment
- Knows how to turn a wrench
- Is skillful at doing so and takes the time to teach employees so they become self-sufficient
- Quickly solves problems on the fly using available tools and resources
- Proven experience as a Crew Lead or similar role from a skilled trade
- Attention to detail and previous painting experience
- Follows through on commitments and leads by example
- Experience in planning and budgeting
- Experienced with using hand and power tools
- Skilled enough to use the proper tools to troubleshoot broken equipment on jobsites, make repairs, and perform scheduled maintenance on equipment
- Strong analytical ability
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
- Problem-solving aptitude
- Great leadership skills and management of people
- Bias to action and isn't afraid to try new things
- Is thoughtful of others and can help build/execute a training program for Line Striping/Pavement Maintenance Technicians
