Registered Nurse (RN) - Night Shift

The competent Registered Nurse (RN) in a clinical setting practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. The RN provides routine and complex care while developing skills to manage contingencies in clinical nursing. The nurse makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as a means to manage the clinical situation effectively.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Address increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience in the related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification required.
• Current RN License in the state of Texas or compact.

Schedule

This position operates on a night shift schedule: 8 PM to 8 AM, three days per week, and is a full-time role.
