Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Mission Valley Post Acute Position: Full-Time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) Location: Mission Valley Post Acute Schedule: Flexible Schedule Available Compensation: $55–$65 per hour (DOE) Benefits: Comprehensive Benefits Package Join Our Rehabilitation Team Mission Valley Post Acute is seeking a compassionate, motivated, and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team. We are committed to providing exceptional care that helps our residents maximize their communication, swallowing, cognitive, and functional abilities while improving their overall quality of life. This full-time position offers a flexible schedule, competitive compensation, and a supportive clinical environment. General Purpose The Staff Speech-Language Pathologist evaluates and treats residents, communicates with families, physicians, and other healthcare team members, and maintains documentation of services in the medical record. The SLP also provides ongoing education, training, and in-services to facility staff. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Evaluate residents to determine speech therapy needs, functional limitations, and rehabilitation potential in accordance with physician orders and facility policies. Develop, implement, and update individualized treatment plans to improve communication, cognition, swallowing function, and overall independence. Assist the nursing department with training of Restorative Aides. Supervise Speech-Language Pathologist Clinical Fellows (CFY) and students in resident care and related activities in accordance with state practice regulations. Communicate regularly with physicians, nursing staff, interdisciplinary team members, residents, and families regarding resident progress, goals, and discharge planning. Participate in Resident Care Conferences, Utilization Review meetings, and Rehabilitation meetings as needed. Provide in-service education and training programs for facility staff. Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation in accordance with facility, governmental, and third‑party payer requirements. Maintain a safe treatment environment by following infection control, safety, and equipment maintenance protocols. Educate residents, families, and caregivers regarding treatment goals, home programs, maintenance strategies, safety techniques, and aspiration prevention. Recommend and facilitate ordering of appropriate durable medical equipment and adaptive devices to support resident independence and safety. Contribute to quality assurance initiatives, performance improvement programs, and rehabilitation program development. Establish and maintain positive professional relationships with residents, families, staff, and healthcare providers. Supervisory Responsibilities Supervise Speech-Language Pathology Clinical Fellows (CFY) and student clinicians, when applicable. Qualifications Master’s Degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited program. Current state Speech‑Language Pathologist license in good standing. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC‑SLP) preferred; CFY candidates may be considered. Experience in skilled nursing, post‑acute care, or rehabilitation settings preferred. Strong communication, documentation, and interdisciplinary collaboration skills.
