Dewberry is currently seeking an Environmental Scientist Intern to join our Richmond, VA office for Summer 2027. This is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic and talented individual to spend the summer working with a team of talented environmental professionals and apply their academic knowledge in the environmental field.

Responsibilities

The individual will assist professionals with work associated with aspects of natural resource inventory, analysis, wetland delineation, permitting and mitigation.

Required Skills & Required Experience

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
• Successful candidate must also possess excellent communication skills (oral and written)
• Working knowledge MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Salary Range

$18.75/hour - $29.75/hour. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.

Program Information

Summer Intern Program

During the summer intern program, interns gain hands-on project experience, develop technical skills, and put their classroom knowledge into action. Our interns are assigned meaningful work and are given the opportunity to work on projects similar to what they would be engaging with as a full-time employee.

Our interns get the opportunity to participate in a series of workshops and events, including:

• Networking opportunities to meet other interns, staff, and senior leaders across the business.
• Learning about our services, projects, and clients.
• Professional development workshops, including a career planning workshop and a DiSC assessment to learn more about themselves and how to work effectively with others.
• Summer-long group project where interns work alongside firm leaders to address issues that will impact our future strategy.
