Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Intensive Care / Coronary Nurse Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 3 years License: Current RN license Certifications: Current BLS and ACLS required; PALS and NRP required within 12 months of hire Must-Have: - Ability to interpret EKGs and care for critically ill patients - Relevant education or experience in critical care preferred Description: Registered Nurse is a compassionate, licensed professional who delivers safe, high-quality, patient-centered care through the full nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will coordinate individualized patient education. You will guide and supervise ancillary team members. You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams. You will uphold professional nursing standards consistently. All practice must align with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital policies, procedures, and current evidence-based guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Conduct thorough patient assessments. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans. Deliver direct patient care across the lifespan while promoting optimal health outcomes. Provide clear, culturally sensitive education to patients and families. Support health literacy and successful transitions of care. Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel. Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record. Collaborate effectively with physicians, therapists, and the broader care team. Participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives. Engage in ongoing professional development. Float to other departments as needed with appropriate orientation and training. Perform additional duties as assigned to support operations and needs. Physical, Environmental & Psychological Considerations: Frequent exposure to bloodborne pathogens, body fluids, infectious diseases, and biohazardous materials. Work occurs primarily in a temperature-controlled hospital setting. There may be occasional exposure to varied sounds, odors, and emotionally challenging situations. Must be physically able to lift, position, and transfer patients using proper body mechanics and assistive equipment. Ability to work effectively under stress and respond calmly to emergencies. Maintain strong problem-solving and coping skills. Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic clinical situations. Department-Specific Qualifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification from the American Heart Association or equivalent. Education and clinical experience that provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities needed for the assigned department. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and critical-thinking skills. Ability to deliver compassionate, culturally competent care to patients of all ages. Strong team player with flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
