Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Long Term Care / Skilled Nursing Facility Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification Must-Have: LTC experience Description: The nurse will act as charge and pass medications and perform wound care. The facility has 26 beds/residents. The nursing ratio is 1:10 during the day and 1:19 at night. Common diagnoses include heart disease, diabetes, and dementia. There are no IVs or titratable drips on this unit. There are no telemetry monitors; RNs are not required to read strips. The nursing team is not required to attend team conferences for acute inpatient rehabilitation. There is a Director of Nursing on-site, but no additional supervisors. Physician availability after hours is by phone on-call. This facility does not support an interdisciplinary team, and there are no rehab beds, only long-term care. Physical therapy is provided as needed, with a social worker designee available. There are no respiratory therapists on-site 24/7. The facility uses oxygen concentrators and portable concentrators. The pharmacy is off-site with a medication dispensing system. Shifts are 12 hours long from 7 PM to 7 AM. There are no blocked schedules or self-scheduling, with every other weekend and holiday required. There are no call or standby requirements. Scrubs or dress code are not specified, but staff must be clean and presentable. There are 2-3 shifts of unit-specific orientation provided. Candidates must adhere to a radius rule of 50 miles and cannot be employed full-time, part-time, or PRN with any associated facilities. Requests for time off must be submitted upfront, with limits on additional requests during the contract period. Hospitals may cancel up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment. The charting system used is MatrixCare. A BSN is not required for submission. This position is within the nursing division.
