Registered Nurse (RN) Adaptable Care Unit

Job Description Inova Fair Oaks Hospital is looking for a dedicated Experienced Registered Nurse to join our Adaptable Care team. This role will be Full‑Time, Days (3 – 12 hour shifts) from 7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance are available for eligible nurses. The Adaptable Care Unit (4 South) at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital consists of 11 beds. The patient population includes Progressive Care and Intermediate Care – cardiac, neurological, patients requiring isolation, dialysis, or larger beds. Ideal candidates possess strong time‑management skills and thrive in team‑paced settings. Responsibilities Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple data sets and synthesizing their relationships. Formulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practice. Conducts all patient care in a patient and family centered manner, integrating knowledge, skills, and experiences to meet the needs of patients and families throughout the continuum of care. Advocates for patients' rights from the patient and family perspective and provides counsel while acting as a resource to resolve issues. Accesses resources from all disciplines to achieve desired patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planning. Documents all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentation. Evaluates the process to achieve outcomes, anticipates patient variances, and makes revisions to plans of care. Makes clinical decisions based on experience, patient population data, and intuition while promoting the development of clinical decision making of all team members. Minimum Qualifications Education: BSN from an accredited nursing school. If RN holds an associate’s degree (ADN), must complete a BSN within five years of start date. Experience: Minimum of one year registered nurse clinical experience in an acute care setting. Certification: Currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Virginia or hold a privilege to practice in Virginia under the Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC). Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association required upon start. Preferred Qualifications Previous experience in an Intermediate Care Unit is strongly preferred. Open to RN experience in Observation/Overflow, Emergency Department, Progressive Care Unit, Cardiac Telemetry, and Med‑Surg units.
