POSITION OVERVIEW

Legacy Early College (“Legacy”) seeks a teacher who can ensure student success through differentiated instruction. The candidate must create and maintain a climate that promotes knowledge, skills, and character traits needed to succeed through college and beyond. This position reports to the School Principal.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties Prepare computer science lessons that reflect best practices and accommodations for students with individual differences. Prepare for classes assigned and show written evidence of preparation upon request of the immediate supervisor. Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and, in harmony with the goals, establish clear objectives for all lessons, units, and projects to communicate these objectives to the students. Assess student learning through observations, authentic performance, and more formal methods, in an ongoing manner, providing frequent student feedback, information to parents, and written progress reports. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, school policy, and administrative regulations. Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct. Participate in all professional development opportunities. Actively participate in team meetings and serve on staff committees. Establish and maintain open lines of communication with students, parents, and community members. Perform other job-related duties as assigned. Qualifications Preferred: Teaching certificate* *South Carolina Teacher Certification may be REQUIRED for specific positions, such as: Special Education, ML/ ESOL, High Course with EOC exams, etc. Work Schedule Teachers will operate on the Legacy Early College academic calendar, which has a 10-month school year schedule. A typical week during normal school hours is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Competitive salaries are based on education, certification, and experience. The position will have periods of extended work week hours, which are required to support the region's ongoing development and the delivery of high-quality education for all students.
