Key Qualifications:

• Active Virginia Special Education Teacher license with certification in Adaptive or General Curriculum
• Experience or strong interest in working with elementary (K-5th) students
• Ability to adapt instructional strategies to a range of learning needs
• Proven communication and collaboration skills with students, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and specialized support to students within assigned caseload, in both adaptive and general curriculum environments
• Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Assess student progress and modify teaching strategies accordingly
• Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom climate
• Collaborate with general education teachers, paras, therapists, and administrators to coordinate services and accommodations
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians, maintaining transparency and strong partnerships
