Licensed Vocational Nurse II

The County of Riverside - Riverside University Health System (RUHS) - Medical Center is seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse II. Under supervision and direction of a registered nurse, nurse practitioner, or physician, the incumbent will be responsible for observing behavioral changes, assisting with crisis intervention, demonstrating responsibility for proper administration, monitoring, and managing of medications, displaying knowledge of adverse side effects, indications of use, and contraindications of medications; performing nursing duties within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act for vocational nursing in the care of patients in a hospital inpatient setting or outpatient clinic of a hospital, Public Health or Mental Health clinic; and performing other work as required. The ideal candidate has strong basic English writing skills, excellent communication abilities, outstanding organization, thrives in a team-oriented environment, and demonstrates a high level of patience, tolerance, and understanding when supporting individuals with complex needs and behavioral challenges. The most competitive candidates will possess the following professional experience:

• At least 1 year of successful LVN experience, preferably in behavioral health, mental health, and/or substance abuse programs
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Electronic Health Records)

Required valid licenses and certificates:

• California Vocational Nurse's License issued by the California Board of Vocational Nurse and Psychiatric Technician Examiners
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association
• CPI

Work Schedule: 3/12 day shift (actual shift hours may be discussed during the interview process)
