Senior Credit Associate – Private Placement Investment Team (NewportBeach,CA) Pacific Life’s Private Placement Investment team is actively seeking a Senior Credit Associate to support fundamental research on privately placed fixed‑income opportunities for the Company’s General Account. The role involves reviewing financial and legal documents, analyzing investment merits and industry dynamics, and providing investment recommendations to support portfolio decisions. Responsibilities Conduct fundamental credit research and analysis for new investment‑grade opportunities. Make investment recommendations that meet portfolio needs. Analyze financial models and conduct sensitivity analysis. Assist in deal tracking and documentation. Actively monitor existing portfolio investments and assets. Develop and maintain relationships with external parties, including investment banks, investors, and rating agencies. Collaborate with internal groups and interact with other credit analysts and portfolio managers. Grow and advance under the direction of senior investment professionals. Perform additional duties as requested. Qualifications 5+ years of investment experience and fundamental credit analysis, with private placement experience preferred. Underwriting, recommending, and presenting transactions experience. Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or CFA desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Excel. Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously with high attention to detail. Compensation & Benefits Base pay range: $152,010 – $185,790 (actual compensation may vary based on experience and location). Additional incentive pay possible.
