$2000 Sign On Bonus - Refrigeration Operator - 1st Shift page is loaded## $2000 Sign On Bonus - Refrigeration Operator - 1st Shiftlocations: Harrisonburg, VAtime type: Full timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: JR-2026005412It's fun to work in a company where people truly BELIEVE in what they're doing!*We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business.***SUMMARY:** The Refrigeration Operator uses their hands-on knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and experience working with industrial refrigeration components to accomplish preventative and predictive maintenance tasks of the refrigeration department of the assigned facility**.** Assist with Boiler and steam system maintenance.**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES** include, but are not limited to, the following:* Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration equipment, such as compressors, ammonia pumps condensing towers, etc.* Full understanding of the refrigeration cycle* Perform preventative and predictive maintenance and assigned work orders* Perform troubleshooting activities, as necessary.* Performs quality checks as required by position and/or product at assigned facility* Demonstrate an understanding and adherence to all work safety policies, procedures, and governing requirements.* Performs other related duties as assigned.**SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES**This position will not have supervisory responsibility.**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE*** **Required** + High school or equivalent AND 5+ years of experience in Refrigeration, Maintenance, or similar skill set + Refrigerating Engineers and Technicians Association (RETA) membership w/Certified Industrial Refrigeration Operator (CIRO) or ability to obtain. + Ammonia Refrigeration (2 stage system) + Able to pass and maintain state High Pressure Steam Boiler License + Process Safety Management (PSM) understanding + Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record + Speak, read & write fluently in English* **Preferred** + Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response Standard (HAZWOPER) certification + Excellent mechanical aptitude with ability to handle multiple projects at one time*George’s is committed to providing reasonable accommodation to, among others, individuals with disabilities and disabled veterans.
