Shipping and Receiving Specialist

PGS Worldwide is seeking a Shipping and Receiving Specialist in Milford, CT for a one-year contract-to-hire role supporting a leading aerospace & defense company.

The Shipping and Receiving Specialist will support asset management, material handling, shipping, receiving, expediting, database maintenance, and parts coordination for aircraft test development programs. This role requires SAP, Microsoft Office, ASSETT SMART, forklift operation, and the ability to coordinate materials across engineering, laboratory, production, purchasing, suppliers, and vendors.

Required Skills

• Experience with shipping, receiving, material handling, asset management, or related logistics support.

• Prior expediting experience.
• Experience communicating with internal customers, suppliers, and vendors.
• Ability to receive incoming materials and prepare materials for shipment.
• Ability to verify quantity, weight, and material conformance.
• Ability to prepare shipping records and bills of lading.
• Ability to route materials to proper destinations.
• Ability to support receipt, handling, storage, and allocation of incoming parts and materials.
• Ability to review, coordinate, correct, and status planned Bills of Materials and Test Collectors.
• Ability to receive and process records.
• Ability to expedite parts and materials to support test milestones and schedules.
• Ability to coordinate with Production Control, Manufacturing Engineering, Purchasing, Engineering customers, suppliers, and vendors.
• Ability to input data into specified databases.
• Ability to maintain min-max balances of lab common hardware and equipment.
• Ability to identify parts and material schedule deviations before deadlines and expedite accordingly.
• Ability to operate a company vehicle.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to communicate effectively across factory, laboratory, and engineering areas.
• Flexibility to support overtime, extended shifts, and modified shift requirements.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Sikorsky Aircraft, aircraft parts, commercial or government customer material support, asset management operations, test development programs, shipping documentation, bill of material coordination, material expediting, database administration, inventory control, and lab hardware management.

What You'll Do

• Perform manual and clerical shipping and receiving duties.
• Use hand trucks, forklifts, computers, and related equipment to support material movement and data maintenance.
• Receive incoming materials and prepare outbound materials for shipment.
• Verify material quantity, weight, and conformance.
• Prepare shipment records, bills of lading, and related documentation.
• Route materials to appropriate destinations.
• Support asset management operations for incoming parts and materials.
• Review and status planned Bills of Materials and Test Collectors.
• Expedite parts and materials through operations to meet test program milestones.
• Coordinate documentation, parts movement, and material status with internal teams and external suppliers.
• Input and maintain data in required databases.
• Maintain min-max balances for lab hardware and equipment.
• Support special shipments, including preparation of parts, tooling, crates, and boxes as needed.

Work Schedule / Shift

• Work location: Bic Drive, Milford, CT.
• Must be flexible to support overtime, extended shifts, and modified shift requirements.
