Executive Director, Eshelman Innovation

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is hiring an Executive Director, Eshelman Innovation. This role leads the Eshelman Institute for Innovation to foster innovation in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences through strategic management of resources, partnerships, and programs while aligning with school and university missions to drive impactful outcomes. Highlights Lead the Eshelman Institute for Innovation (EII) to promote innovation in pharmacy education, research, and health care. Manage EII assets including reputation, revenue, intellectual property, and programs. Develop strategic collaborations, attract investments, and monetize intellectual property. Oversee EII staff, operational budget, and current/future programs. Communicate the Institute’s activities and impact internally and externally, and build a strong brand. Work with EII Steering Board to evaluate strategy and manage board member rotation. Required: Relevant post-baccalaureate degree with minimum 3 years related experience or bachelor’s degree with 5 years experience; Master’s degree preferred with 10-15 years experience. Strategic planning and implementation experience required. Preferred qualifications include PhD, leadership across complex organizations, academic policy knowledge, business development, and experience engaging corporate partners and donors.
