An exciting career awaits you. At MPC, we’re committed to being a great place to work – one that welcomes new ideas, encourages diverse perspectives, develops our people, and fosters a collaborative team environment. Position Summary Our digital organization at MPC is on a mission to deliver trusted, scalable, and high-quality data products that accelerate decision-making across our integrated value chains and enable enterprise transformation. As our data platform and product ecosystem continue to grow, the need for a formal Total Quality Management (TQM) capability has become critical to ensuring consistency, compliance, operational readiness, and long-term trust in our data products at scale. We are seeking an experienced leader to build and mature a modern TQM function focused on embedding quality, governance, and continuous improvement practices across the full lifecycle of enterprise data products. This leader will help establish scalable quality frameworks, testing and controls strategies, lifecycle review processes, and production quality monitoring practices that proactively reduce risk while enabling faster and more reliable delivery. Success in this role will strengthen confidence in enterprise data, improve delivery quality and operational resilience, and help ensure our business can scale data-driven decision-making with the speed, consistency, and trust required for long-term transformation. The successful candidate will be responsible for embedding quality, compliance, and governance practices across the full lifecycle of enterprise data products. This role drives consistency, reusability, and continuous improvement by defining and measuring quality standards, developing templates and controls, and partnering closely with teams across the data product lifecycle. The manager also coordinates data product reviews and oversees platform and product control testing to ensure quality and alignment across diverse delivery models. This role is accountable for business results primarily achieved through the work of others. Manages staff, sets direction, and deploys resources. Has responsibility for employee development, performance reviews, pay reviews, and staffing decisions. Accountable for business, functional or operational areas, processes, or programs. Key Responsibilities Manages daily operations of the team, providing guidance, mentorship, and driving a culture of innovation and continuous improvement. Oversees recruitment, development, retention, and performance to build strong talent. Plans and leads low- to medium-complexity IT projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and adhere to quality standards. Ensures the availability, reliability, and security of technology systems. Collaborates with key stakeholders and internal groups to identify needs, deliver effective solutions, and support business objectives. Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the TQM framework that embeds quality, compliance, and governance controls across the product lifecycle. Define and manage formal quality reviews, control design and testing, and documentation reviews at all stages of the data product lifecycle, ensuring consistency across delivery teams. Own the best practices, templates, testing strategies, reusable test plans, and validation artifacts required to ensure high-quality, compliant data products across our platforms. Collaborate with Data Governance, Internal Audit, IT Compliance, Data Delivery, and Decision Intelligence to ensure TQM controls are actionable, enforceable, and tightly integrated with governance expectations. Oversee the design, scheduling, and execution of controls, including periodic self-testing, SOX reviews, and compliance monitoring for data products and underlying platforms. Lead cross‑functional review forums to assess product quality, identify gaps, validate documentation, and verify adherence to best practices prior to production release or critical lifecycle transitions. Own dashboards, scorecards, and KPIs that measure data product quality, control performance, compliance posture, and continuous improvement progress. Implement, enforce, and continuously refine processes for capturing and retaining technical requirements, metadata details, security needs, and control evidence for every data product. Manages staffing, skill growth, and performance, fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and cross‑functional collaboration.
