Job Summary:

A Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse (RN) is sought in Madison, Wisconsin. This role involves providing specialized care for critically ill newborns requiring advanced medical and surgical interventions. The position is located in a 26-bed Level IV NICU within a pediatric medical and surgical center. Candidates are required to bring their license on the first day.

Job Details:


  • Shift: Night shifts, 12-hour shifts, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.

  • Required Qualifications: Valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or compact license, at least 2 years of total NICU III / IV experience with a minimum of 1 year in a Level IV NICU, certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and experience with Epic electronic medical record system.

  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with post-operative patients, ventilator management, arterial line management, invasive and non-invasive ventilation modes, and various advanced neonatal procedures.

  • Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS, WI RN license or compact.

  • Additional Information: Experience with catheter care, patient and family teaching, and managing high-acuity neonates is essential. This position requires the ability to work in a high-stakes, fast-paced environment, floating to other units as needed, and adhering to strict clinical protocols.
