Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift ICU travel position in Elko, NV, requiring a minimum of 2 years of ICU experience and an active NV RN license.

Details

• 7-bed ICU unit in an acute care hospital setting
• Adult and geriatric patient population with common diagnoses including COPD, CHF, respiratory failure, overdose, alcohol withdrawal, DKA, STEMI, AMI, and stroke
• Patient ratios are 2:1 for higher acuity ICU patients and 5:1 for medical-surgical overflow
• Equipment used includes IV pumps, SCDs, telemetry monitors, and bedside monitoring
• EMR is MedHost
• 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekend coverage required on a rotating basis
• When the unit is on standby, RNs float to other units or are placed on call; if called in, must be able to report to the facility within 30 minutes
• 4-week contract

Requirements

• Active NV RN license required
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Preferred skills include experience with arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, BiPAP, post cardiac cath lab care, post-surgical care, moderate sedation, chest tube management, electrolyte management, and telemetry
• Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration
• Must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates
• Cannot have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months
• Cannot be employed full-time elsewhere

• This is a rapid response position — candidates must be available to start within 7–10 days of offer acceptance
• Weekly Monday orientations are available
• No specific scrub color required
