Registered Nurse - Oncology

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized infusion nursing care to oncology patients undergoing bone marrow transplant (BMT) therapies. Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate treatment within a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, cellular therapies, and blood products following strict protocols.
• Monitor patient responses and manage adverse reactions during infusions.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and execute individualized care plans.
• Maintain accurate documentation in EMR systems including Meditech and OncoEMR.
• Ensure adherence to unit policies, safety standards, and infection control practices.
• Educate patients and family members on treatment procedures, side effects, and post-care instructions.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license with a minimum of 2 years of pediatric or adult acute care nursing experience.
• Possess current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Demonstrate at least 1 year of recent BMT or oncology infusion experience.
• Be proficient in IV placement and administration of chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and blood products.
• Ideally, hold ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy Certification, with transplant cellular therapy experience preferred.
• Show strong teamwork, compassion, and ability to handle high patient volumes and acuity.
