About The Role, Your Impact Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Construction Technician in our Bannockburn, or Crysal Lake, IL office. The Technician will support the firm’s construction group on a variety of projects ranging from roadways to underground utility installations. Additionally, this position will assist with the planning, design, and construction of a variety of facilities. This position will also offer the opportunity to work directly with firm clients. What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job Quantity Computation. Construction Layout/Survey. Observe, measure and document construction activities. Produce and edit engineering plans using AutoCAD and/or MicroStation. Prepare CAD plan sheet drawings. Assist project engineers and managers with a wide variety of tasks required during project delivery. General civil engineering and client service. Education Requirement Associate's degree in Structural/Architecture and/or Construction Management Technology desired or related field experience. Must-haves, What You Will Bring 2+ years of experience working as a Construction Inspector or Technician on construction projects. Effective communication, both oral and written, with residents, businesses and public agencies. Ability to travel throughout the northern Chicagoland area (own transportation). Work in a team environment. Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills. Compensation The pay range for this role is $28.00 - $40.00 per hour. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications. You matter!
