Senior Analytical Chemist

Senior Analytical Chemist Position Summary: This role is 100% on‑site at Catalent’s Greenville, NC facility, where you will support pharmaceutical products through routine and non‑routine analytical testing, following safety, quality, and regulatory requirements. Responsibilities Independently perform routine and complex testing for chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods (HPLC, GC, UV) for excipients, new chemical entities, and drug products. Interpret data, make recommendations, and identify potential concerns. Compare laboratory data against specifications, prepare reports, and trend data where applicable. Ensure proper usage, care, and return of calibration standards and reference materials. Maintain accuracy of testing by following method and SOP instructions and adhering to internal SOPs. Author standard operating procedures, analytical testing procedures, and final submission‑ready documents; create document templates for junior team members. Participate in laboratory troubleshooting and continuous improvement activities. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Associate degree in Biotechnology, Chemistry or equivalent science degree with seven years of professional experience in pharmaceutical analytical chemistry; OR Bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field with six years of professional experience; OR Master’s degree with five years of experience; OR Ph.D. with two years of relevant experience. Strong knowledge of analytical chemistry techniques (HPLC, GC, UV). Experience in pharmaceutical analytical testing and SOP development. Excellent data interpretation and report‑writing skills. Strong organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Physical Requirements Ability to lift 10–50 lbs unassisted. Work performed while standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing; includes bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching. Some exposure to hazardous chemicals.
