Energy HVAC Technician

Quigley Heating & Sheet Metal, a Valley Wide Cooperative company is currently hiring to support our growing operations and provide exceptional service throughout the Magic Valley.


The position of HVAC Technician is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. This position is responsible for performing all services in a safe and timely manner.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.

1. Installs new HVAC units in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings.
2. Installs ductwork and thermostats to control HVAC system.
3. Performs routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they operate properly.
4. Inspects and troubleshoots problems with existing HVAC units.
5. Installs replacement parts on existing HVAC units.
6. Maintains inventory of replacement parts and orders replacements.
7. Complies with company and industry safety standards.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:

1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
2. Vocational/technical school training or apprenticeship required.
3. Apprentice or Journeyman HVAC license required.
4. EPA certification required; must have a comprehensive understanding of HVAC safety standards.
5. HVAC experience required; two years of related experience preferred.
6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
7. Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and equipment.
8. Ability to use power and hand tools.
9. Ability to use thermometers, pressure gauges, and other testing devices to evaluate HVAC system.
10. Ability to read operation and repair manuals for HVAC systems.
11. Ability to follow instructions.
12. Excellent mechanical skills.
13. Excellent communication skills, as required to interact with customers.
14. Must exhibit a professional and positive image.
