This is not a typical technology consulting role.

We're hiring a Senior Technology Consultant to lead complex technology systems and infrastructure design projects across healthcare, higher education, and other demanding project environments.

You'll help guide projects from early planning through design, construction, and activation while working alongside a multidisciplinary team. You won't be expected to do everything on your own, but you will be expected to provide the leadership, judgment, coordination, and client communication needed to keep projects moving forward.

About the Role

This is a full-time, fully remote position for someone Regular travel to client sites throughout the region is required for meetings, site assessments, and construction-phase activities.

You'll lead the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of high-touch and high-visibility technology projects. The role combines technical expertise, project leadership, and client engagement, with the support of a collaborative team of subject matter experts, designers, and production staff.

What You'll Do

• Implement your design knowledge while wearing your project management hat to lead technology projects from initial planning through design and construction, alongside the other designers on your project team.

• Advise clients on technology strategy, system architecture, infrastructure planning, standards, and long-term technology roadmaps.

• Translate client goals, operational needs, and workflows into practical technology solutions and clear design requirements.

• Serve as the technical project manager, establishing and managing project scope, design approach, work plans, deliverables, schedules, and team priorities while serving as a primary point of contact for the client and broader project team.

• Develop and oversee technology drawings, specifications, narratives, reports, cost estimates, and other design documentation leveraging our company templates and resources. • Coordinate technology requirements with architects, engineers, contractors, vendors, facility teams, IT departments, and other project stakeholders.

• Lead client and project meetings, communicate recommendations clearly, document key decisions, and drive open issues toward resolution.

• Review drawings and deliverables for technical accuracy, coordination, constructability, and compliance with project requirements and industry standards.

• Support projects during construction by reviewing submittals and RFIs, attending coordination meetings and job walks, observing installation progress, developing punch lists, and verifying completion of corrective work.

• Identify project risks, anticipate coordination challenges, and provide practical solutions that balance performance, cost, schedule, and long-term client needs.

What We're Looking For

• At least five years of experience in technology consulting, engineering, or design for the built environment.

• Strong client-facing, communication, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical issues and strategic recommendations clearly. Don't have a ton of experience in this area but you have the required skills and confidence that you can do it with some support? • Strong technical knowledge in one or more areas, such as information and communications technology, healthcare IT, audiovisual systems, electronic security, wireless systems, or other building technologies.

• Experience serving as a technical project manager, including managing scope, schedules, deliverables, client expectations, and internal project teams.

• Ability to lead and provide clear direction to designers, engineers, and production staff while remaining accountable for the quality and completion of project deliverables.

• Experience coordinating technology systems with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and other building disciplines.

• Working knowledge of industry standards, codes, construction documents, specifications, and the A/E/C project delivery process.

• Familiarity with Revit and AutoCAD and the ability to effectively direct, review, and markup design documentation.

• Willingness to travel to client offices, project sites, and team events

Nice to Have

• RCDD, CTS-D, PSP, and/or Professional Engineer licensure is preferred. Additional relevant industry certifications are a plus.

• 7+ years of relevant experience

• Experience across multiple technology disciplines, such as ICT, AV, security, wireless, nurse call, RTLS, DAS, or other specialty systems.

• Experience with design-build, progressive design-build, or other alternative delivery methods.
