Multi-Craft Industrial Millwright Specialist

Location: Woodville, TX

Compensation: Up to $44/hr DOE

A day in the life

Your 12-hour shift begins with a quick walkthrough of the production floor. Pellet mills and hammermills are humming, drag conveyors and bucket elevators are moving product, and you are the person who keeps it all running to spec. By mid-morning, you are dialing in a precision shaft alignment with laser tools on a gearbox and coupling. After lunch, you are fabricating a custom guard from plate and angle, laying down clean MIG and Stick beads, and finishing with an oxy-fuel cut. When an unexpected pneumatic issue stalls a rotary valve, you diagnose it, repair it, log the work in the CMMS, and coordinate a follow-up PM so it does not happen again.

What you will handle

• Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, rebuild, modify, and maintain industrial mechanical equipment: pellet mills, hammermills, conveyors (including drag conveyors), bucket elevators, augers, screw conveyors, rotary valves, gearboxes, pumps, fans, blowers, shafts, bearings, couplings, and other material handling systems.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical power transmission, hydraulic, pneumatic, and lubrication systems across production equipment.
• Perform structural and precision welding (MIG, TIG, Stick) and oxy-fuel cutting for equipment repair, fabrication, and modification of plant infrastructure.
• Fabricate parts and assemblies such as guards, brackets, piping, platforms, and structural components to support maintenance and continuous improvement.
• Install, align, rebuild, and commission new machinery and production lines, ensuring proper mechanical operation from day one.
• Execute precision shaft alignment with laser alignment tools and other precision instruments.
• Lead and assist with root cause failure analysis to drive reliability and reduce long-term maintenance cost.
• Assist in basic industrial electrical troubleshooting for motors, motor controls, sensors, instrumentation, and automated systems; coordinate with electricians as needed.
• Perform preventive, predictive, corrective, and emergency maintenance to maximize uptime and throughput.
• Read and interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings, blueprints, equipment manuals, P&IDs, and fundamental electrical schematics.
• Operate welding and fabrication equipment, forklifts, aerial lifts, rigging and overhead cranes, precision measuring tools, and diagnostic instruments safely.
• Support planned outages, shutdowns, and capital projects from planning through execution.
• Recommend equipment and process enhancements that improve reliability, safety, efficiency, and maintainability.
• Accurately complete work orders, PM inspections, repairs, equipment history, and records within the CMMS.
• Partner with Operations, Engineering, Production, Electrical, and Maintenance to prioritize work and minimize downtime.
• Mentor and coach junior maintenance teammates, championing quality workmanship and safe practices.
• Keep work areas organized and uphold strong housekeeping standards.
• Follow LOTO, confined space, hot work, fall protection, respiratory protection, and all applicable safety procedures.
• Demonstrate leadership through accountability, professionalism, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Handle other duties as needed to support safe and efficient operations.

Schedule

Must be available for 12-hour shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays based on demand.

What you bring

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical degree or vocational training in Industrial Maintenance, Millwright, Mechanical or Welding Technology preferred.
• 7+ years of industrial maintenance experience in manufacturing, processing, or heavy industrial environments.
• Proven expertise in advanced mechanical maintenance, welding and fabrication, hydraulics, pneumatics, and equipment installation.
• Working knowledge of industrial electrical systems and safe troubleshooting of basic components.
• Hands-on experience with welding, fabrication, rigging, and precision alignment tools.
• Ability to interpret mechanical and fabrication drawings, P&IDs, blueprints, and equipment manuals.
• CMMS experience preferred.
• Advanced mechanical troubleshooting and diagnostic capability; strong welding and fabrication skills.
• Solid understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems; excellent problem-solving and root cause analysis.
• Track record of prioritizing effectively in a fast-paced, continuous manufacturing setting.
• Leadership, mentoring, and strong communication skills; able to work independently and collaborate across functions.
• Commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and equipment reliability.

Work environment

Heavy industrial manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, heat, moving mechanical equipment, and varying weather. Role requires standing, walking, climbing ladders, kneeling, crouching, reaching, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working at heights or in confined spaces. PPE is required. Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and respond to emergency callouts as needed.
