About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Step Down Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 1.5-2+ years in Step Down and MS/Tele License: Active RN License Certifications: BCLS, ACLS Must-Have: 1 year of experience in MS/Tele and 2 years of experience in Step Down Ability to read telemetry strips Description: Step Down Immediate Care Unit RN needed for night shifts. Shifts are from 7 PM to 7 AM on weekdays and some weekends. The typical patient ratio is 1:4, with flexibility to 1:5 in emergencies. Candidates should limit holiday time-off requests to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays. The unit cares for patients with varying acuity levels, primarily cardiac cases. Certification in BCLS and ACLS is required. Skills required include IV starts and telemetry. Candidates must have prior experience in a Step Down unit and be able to manage complex cardiac patients. Responsibilities include monitoring telemetry, administering medications, and providing post-operative care. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential for patient care. Nurses should be proficient in various nursing procedures and equipment related to cardiac care and telemetry monitoring. Candidates must have a strong background in managing patients with cardiac conditions and be prepared to handle emergencies.
