Job Details Position: Locum Tenens Cardiology Physician Specialty: Internal Medicine - Cardiology Location: Portsmouth, OH Weekly Estimated Pay: $6,160 - $7,290 Start Date: August 31, 2026 End Date: September 25, 2026 Coverage Blocks: August 31-September 4, September 14-18, and September 21-25 Schedule: Weekday inpatient rounding with call coverage; no weekend call Daily Hours: 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM Patient Volume: Approximately 15-20 patient encounters per shift Credentialing Timeframe: Approximately 90 days Setting: Inpatient cardiology with support from independent NPs Job Requirements Board certification required Minimum of 1 year of cardiology experience required Active physician licensure and eligibility for hospital privileges ACLS and BLS certifications required Strong experience with inpatient cardiology, hospital medicine, and ICU-level care Comfort with non-invasive cardiology services, including echocardiography, TEE, nuclear cardiology, and STEMI management Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced inpatient environment Responsibilities Provide inpatient cardiology rounding and weekday call coverage Manage a steady daily patient load with efficiency and clinical precision Partner with independent NPs and the broader care team to support continuity of care Evaluate and treat patients requiring inpatient cardiology consultation and management Interpret and support non-invasive cardiology testing and related clinical findings Respond to STEMI and other urgent inpatient cardiology needs as appropriate Deliver high-quality care during assigned coverage blocks with excellent communication and professionalism Apply now to join this locum tenens cardiology physician opportunity in Portsmouth, Ohio.
