Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 6 Weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS Must-Have: Epic experience Description: Unit Notes: Candidates may not have been directly employed by any facility within the past year. Candidates employed through outside firms will be considered. The RN must pass the Advanced Dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 83% before signing the contract. They will have three attempts to pass. Call outs are strongly discouraged and could lead to termination. May be asked to precept as needed. Orientation will consist of 1-3 shifts depending on experience. Security is in-house 24/7. On average, the ER treats around 70 patients per day. Nurse to Patient Ratios are typically 1:3-4 depending on acuity. Common diagnoses include pediatrics, cardiac issues, STEMIs, strokes, and general ER cases. Travelers are allowed to staff in the separate Triage area. RNs are required to read and interpret their own strips. Phlebotomy services are available in-house. Shifts start at various times throughout the day. Every other weekend is required along with holiday rotation. Floating requirements are usually minimal, with travelers being the first to float if necessary. Dress code requires navy scrubs and undershirts with optional navy scrub jackets. RNs are not responsible for placement setups for psych patients. Travelers are encouraged to extend assignments when possible. The cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shifts to be canceled during a 13-week assignment. Charting system utilized is MEDITECH.
