Travel Nurse RN - Intermediate Care - $1,847 per week in Bossier City, LA

TravelNurseSource is working with Malone Healthcare to find a qualified IMC RN in Bossier City, Louisiana, 71111!

Key Responsibilities
Provide PCU-level nursing care for a patient population that includes CVA and TIA diagnoses, maintaining a 1:3 RN-to-patient ratio
Perform and manage central venous line (CVL) placement and management, arterial lines, Foley catheter management, and tube feedings via NGT or PEG
Titrate vasoactive and cardiac drips including Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin
Conduct neurological assessments utilizing

NIHSS

and apply stroke protocol knowledge in patient care
Manage diabetes and perform ongoing patient monitoring with accurate documentation in Meditech Expanse EMR
Float to Stepdown and Med/Surg units as needed based on staffing requirements
Required Qualifications
Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
Minimum 2 years of RN experience in acute care; first-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care
BLS certification required
ACLS certification required
NIHSS certification required
Must pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance prior to arrival
Travelers who were previously permanent staff at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience with drip titration, particularly Levophed, in a PCU or stepdown setting
Familiarity with Meditech Expanse EMR, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systems
Prior experience in a stroke or neurology unit with strong NIHSS assessment skills
Experience working in environments with VAT team support for PICC and midline placement
