Location: Near Enterprise, AL

Pay Rate: $70.00 – $75.00 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Flexible hours available)

Rx relief is seeking a qualified and adaptable Pharmacist ready to step into a leadership role as a Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) at a hospital facility near Enterprise, AL. Position Overview

In this role, you will balance administrative oversight with hands-on clinical duties. You will serve as the primary liaison with regulatory boards while ensuring the pharmacy delivers safe, accurate, and efficient medication management to the hospital's patient population.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance & Leadership

• Serve as the official Pharmacist-in-Charge with the Alabama Board of Pharmacy.
• Guarantee strict adherence to all state and federal pharmacy laws, rules, and regulations.
• Oversee the upkeep of pharmacy permits, DEA registrations, and necessary facility licensure.
• Develop, update, and implement internal pharmacy policies and operational procedures.

Clinical Operations & Staff Oversight

• Review, validate, and dispense medication orders while screening for accuracy, drug interactions, and contraindications.
• Oversee the preparation of sterile compounds, including IV medications.
• Provide clinical interventions, such as adjusting medication dosages based on renal/hepatic function or lab values.
• Direct daily pharmacy workflows, handle scheduling, and mentor/train pharmacy technicians and support staff.

Safety, Quality, and Collaboration

• Actively participate in hospital committees, medication stewardship programs (e.g., opioids, antibiotics), and emergency preparedness drills.
• Maintain meticulous records for all medications, with an emphasis on controlled substances.
• Analyze pharmacy quality metrics, participate in audits, and investigate medication errors or adverse events to improve outcomes.
• Manage inventory, purchasing workflows, and formulary compliance throughout the facility.

Qualifications & Skills

• Licensure: Must hold a current, active, and unrestricted Alabama Pharmacist license.

• Experience: Prior experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is preferred; must feel confident and comfortable stepping directly into the PIC designation.

• Knowledge: Solid understanding of hospital pharmacy operations and state/federal compliance laws.

• Skills: Exceptional clinical judgment, strong organizational habits, sharp attention to detail, and a collaborative, professional communication style.
