Join the Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD as a High Fidelity Wraparound Licensed Master Level Clinician (MLC) for our Texas Family First Prevention Services(TXFFPS. The Master Level Clinician performs clinical activities such as independent assessments and service interventions as directed by the Family Plan of Service (FPOS) treatment plan and/or identified consumer need(s) via the High-Fidelity Wraparound evidence-based model. This position interfaces with other teams members from Department of Family and Protective Services Family Based Support Services (FBSS), the Child Protective Investigators (CPI) and the Harris County Juvenile Justice Courts teams, along with other key family and community supports to create a FPOS. Must be able to travel to or transport consumers to homes or other field locations in the provision of services as needed. Your Role in Action Participates in formulation of the child, youth and family treatment (inclusive of assessment of needs, treatment planning and admit/discharge planning). Monitors progress with Family Plan of Services goals to determine effectiveness of interventions. Performs clinical assessments to evaluate the child, youth and family appropriate behavioral health interventions. Provides high fidelity wraparound services focusing on the reduction or elimination of symptoms of severe and persistent mental illness, along with any identified physical and social needs and increasing the individual’s ability to perform activities of daily living. Provides crisis intervention to individuals to reduce symptoms and prevent admission to a more restrictive environment. Provides training on the nature of mental illness, the importance of medications, and other medication related information using The Harris Center curricula as well as other trainings as designated. Provides skills training services that address the severe and persistent mental illness and symptom related problems that interfere with the individual’s functioning. Performs activities to assist consumers in gaining and coordinating access to necessary care and services based on individual needs. Responsible for reviewing and authorizing treatment/services based on medical necessity. Ensures all services provided meet eligibility criteria and are authorized in accordance with agency and regulatory guidelines. Meets Divisional productivity standards. Demonstrates ethical conduct in all clinical and professional activities Advocates for consumers to ensure that needs are met both within The Harris Center system and in the community. Communicates and works with consumers/visitors/other staff in a manner that demonstrates knowledge of cultural diversities Completes reporting/training as designated in an accurate and timely manner. Performs related work as assigned. Adapts to changing work requirements. Complies with Center policies and procedures, accrediting/regulatory bodies and performance contract documentation requirements. What qualifications you will need Master’s degree or equivalent. LPC-A, LMFT-A or LMSW in the state of TX Intern Licensure with current clinical supervision. 6 months clinical experience. Knowledge of diagnostic criteria, specific clinical features and guidelines for formulating a diagnosis. Knowledge about cognitive behavioral therapy focusing on the reduction or elimination of severe and persistent mental illness (if applicable) Maintains current Intern licensure/supervision with appropriate state licensing regulatory board. Strong diagnostic skills, the ability to incorporate patient history, symptoms, environmental and related issues to formulate proper diagnosis & treatment. Strong communication skills, listening and interpersonal skills above average, written documentation is clear, concise, and well-constructed. Knowledge of safer suicide care practices and evidence-based interventions is a strong plus. Effective time management and organizational skills. Able to execute standard word processing software on the computer.
