As a Middle School Social Studies Teacher: You will play a critical role in student success. We want you to build an exciting classroom environment while maintaining a rigorous learning focused curriculum. Your classroom will be a place where students learn and develop competency in social studies coursework while feeling prepared for life beyond the walls of our schools. This position requires a valid Michigan (secondary) teaching certificate. We will work with individuals that do not possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate but have a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Studies or a related field for certification. Multiple certifications/endorsements also preferred, but not required. Strong belief that all students can and will be successful. Strong knowledge of curriculum content in social studies related coursework. Able to plan effective, engaging lessons and use data to plan and adjust instruction. Ability to interact positively and motivate students. Able to work with colleagues to improve student outcomes.
