Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift LDRP position requiring 3+ years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

• LDRP unit caring for laboring patients from 35 weeks gestation, postpartum, and newborn care
• 12-hour night shift schedule (3x12, 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM)
• Every third weekend required unless otherwise specified
• No call requirements
• Floating within facility and scope of practice as needed
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• 12-week assignment length

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Minimum 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications preferred
• Epic charting system experience required
• Teaching hospital, community hospital, Trauma Level I, and Trauma Level II experience preferred
• Skilled in vaginal delivery assistance, newborn assessment, and postpartum care including couplet care and hemorrhage management
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and infusion pump management
• Copies of all required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care for laboring, postpartum, and newborn patients including discharge teaching and car seat education
• Support breastfeeding and lactation, and assist with circumcision care and post-op site assessment
• Manage postpartum complications including hemorrhage and cesarean section recovery
• Maintain infant identification and security banding protocols
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this unit
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate
• Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract, must be finalized at time of consideration
• No RTO can be requested during orientation week
• Holiday coverage required based on number of major holidays falling within the assignment period (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Full compliance required to start on time
• Prior perm, per diem, or FCSS employees must be away from all facilities within the health system for one full year before applying as a traveler
