Part-Time Medical AssistantAs a Part-Time Medical Assistant, you will support our clinical team in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Working in the Medical Assistant department, you will be responsible for both clinical and administrative tasks, including assisting with procedures, performing point-of-care testing, managing multiple phone lines, and handling documentation via fax. This role is ideal for someone who is fast, efficient, and able to multi-task in a busy medical environment, while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and strong patient communication. You will collaborate closely with providers and other care team members to ensure a smooth and safe flow of daily operations.What You'll DoAssist providers with clinical procedures and examinations in accordance with established protocols and safety standardsPerform EKGs, administer injections, and carry out point-of-care testing as ordered by providersPrepare patients for visits, including obtaining vital signs, documenting histories, and updating medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system, if applicableMaintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies in a clean, organized, and stocked conditionManage multiple phone lines, including answering patient calls, taking messages, and routing information to the appropriate clinical staffHandle incoming and outgoing faxes, including medical records, referrals, prescriptions, and lab reports, ensuring accurate documentation and timely follow-upSupport patient flow by rooming patients efficiently, coordinating with front desk and clinical staff, and assisting with scheduling follow-up appointments as neededFollow infection control, safety, and confidentiality policies at all timesDocument all patient care activities accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely mannerContribute to a positive team environment by communicating effectively and assisting colleagues as neededQualificationsMinimum of 2 years of recent experience working as a Medical Assistant in a clinical settingCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program from a recognized schoolCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationDemonstrated proficiency with EKGs, injections, and assisting with clinical proceduresExperience performing point-of-care testing in an outpatient or similar environmentAbility to manage multiple phone lines professionally and efficientlyFamiliarity with using fax systems for medical records, orders, and clinical documentationStrong multi-tasking skills with the ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced settingExcellent communication and customer service skills with a patient-focused attitudeAbility to follow written and verbal instructions, work both independently and as part of a teamBasic computer literacy; experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferredAbility to comply with all infection control, safety, and confidentiality regulationsAvailability to work part-time, hourly shifts as scheduled, which may include varied days and times depending on clinic needsAs a physician-founded and led organization, ensuring everyone has access to quality healthcare is what inspires us.
