and the job listing Expires on September 4, 2026 Internship Exploring General Business & Beyond We are seeking aMechanical/Aerospace Engineering Internto contribute to our experimental programs, fabrication efforts, and high-speed test operations. This internship provides hands‑on experience instructural design, aerodynamics, and experimental validationof hypersonic systems. Role Type: Full-time Internship, non-exempt Length of Internship: 12 weeks - Mid September to Mid December Compensation: $30/hr Location: Alameda, CA Key Responsibilities Support thedesign, fabrication, and testingof hypersonic test articles. UtilizeSolidWorksto develop CAD models and design modifications. Performstructural and aerodynamic analysesfor projectile designs. Assistintest operations, including hardware preparation and data collection. Work with engineers to refineprojectile, injector, and rig componentsfor Longshot's gas gun testbed. Operatehand tools, shop equipment, and fabrication toolsfor prototyping and assembly. Required Qualifications Pursuing aB.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field. Experience withhand tools, machining, and light fabrication. ProficiencyinSolidWorks or similar CAD software. Basic understanding offluid dynamics, structures, and aerodynamics. Strong mechanical aptitude and ability totroubleshoot test setups. Preferred Qualifications Experience with high-speed aerodynamics and experimental testing. Familiarity with shop equipment (drill press, milling machines, etc.).
