Associate Veterinarian

Job Description Job Description Practice the Medicine You Went to Veterinary School For. Not every day should look the same. One appointment might be a puppy's first vaccines. The next could be a diabetic ketoacidosis case needing stabilization. Followed by an exploratory surgery. A rabbit dental. An injured owl. Or helping a family through one of the hardest conversations they'll ever have. At Hunter Veterinary Clinic , we believe great veterinary medicine is built on collaboration, curiosity, and continual learning. As a busy general practice with urgent care services, we enjoy the best of both worlds—developing lasting relationships through preventive care while caring for the unexpected medical and surgical cases that challenge us to keep learning. We don't expect every veterinarian to know everything—we expect every veterinarian to be willing to learn, ask questions, and help each other provide the best care possible. Whether you've been practicing for two years or twenty, we believe the best medicine comes from working together. We practice high-quality, evidence-based medicine while embracing spectrum-of-care , recognizing that every family and every patient is different. We believe excellent veterinary care means partnering with clients to develop thoughtful, ethical treatment plans that fit their goals, circumstances, and resources. We're looking for a veterinarian who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team, values continual growth, and is excited to care for a remarkably diverse group of patients. A genuine interest in exotic animal medicine is required. A strong interest in surgery is highly desirable. Experienced veterinarians and motivated new graduates seeking mentorship are encouraged to apply. What You'll Do Our caseload offers an exceptional breadth of medicine and surgery, including: Preventive and wellness care Internal medicine Urgent care Soft tissue surgery Dentistry Diagnostic imaging Exotic animal medicine Raptor and Corvid Rehabilitation (for those interested) Hospitalized medical and surgical case management Our patients include: Dogs Cats Rabbits Ferrets Birds Reptiles Small mammals Raptors and Corvids: including eagles, hawks, falcons, owls, ravens, and crows Whether you're seeing a routine wellness appointment or stabilizing a critically ill patient, you'll have the opportunity to practice thoughtful, high-quality medicine with the support of an experienced team. Every veterinarian is encouraged to develop their own professional interests. If surgery excites you, we'll help you grow. If exotics are your passion, you'll see them every week. If you enjoy challenging medical cases, you'll never be bored. Urgent Care That Keeps Medicine Interesting We're not an emergency hospital—but every afternoon and the first Saturday of the month is designed around an urgent care model. Our urgent care caseload means you'll regularly diagnose and manage patients with conditions such as: Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) Pyometra Gastric foreign bodies Urinary obstruction Respiratory distress Toxicities Lacerations and trauma Acute gastrointestinal disease Seizures Allergic reactions The variety keeps your clinical skills sharp while allowing you to build long-term relationships with clients and their pets. If you enjoy practicing the full spectrum of veterinary medicine, you'll find plenty of opportunities here. Collaboration & Mentorship Medicine is a team sport. We believe the best patient care comes from veterinarians who are comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, and learning fr #J-18808-Ljbffr Hunter Veterinary Clinic
