The Role

The Assistant General Manager is a key driver of shop performance, with a strong focus on revenue growth, customer retention, team development, and day-to-day business execution.

You'll own individual sales and revenue goals while also helping shape and execute the broader revenue strategy for the shop. That may include identifying new business opportunities, developing fleet or local business partnerships, improving customer retention, increasing visit frequency, and finding ways to maximize the long-term value of every customer relationship.

You'll work closely with the General Manager to turn shop goals into action. You'll use customer insights, sales performance, and operating trends to identify where the business can grow and where performance needs to improve.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can produce strong individual results while thinking beyond their own book of business. You're expected to create momentum, improve the performance of the people around you, and contribute directly to the growth and financial strength of the location.

What You'll Own

Revenue Growth & Sales Performance

• Meet or exceed your individual sales and revenue goals while helping drive overall shop revenue performance.

• Identify and execute opportunities to grow the business through customer retention, increased visit frequency, additional service opportunities, fleet accounts, and local business partnerships.

• Use strong discovery, value-building, objection handling, and closing skills to convert customer needs and technician recommendations into approved work.

• Monitor sales and customer trends to identify performance gaps, new opportunities, and actions that can produce measurable business results.

• Help build a strong sales culture where the team understands its goals, recognizes opportunities, and takes ownership of revenue performance.

Team Performance & Development

• Partner with the General Manager to set clear expectations and maintain accountability across the shop.

• Coach employees against measurable sales, customer experience, productivity, and operational goals.

• Identify performance gaps, provide direct feedback, and follow through to ensure improvement.

• Support hiring, onboarding, development, performance reviews, and other people-management responsibilities as needed.

• Recognize strong performance and help develop employees who demonstrate readiness for greater responsibility.

• Lead by example through urgency, accountability, customer focus, and consistent personal performance.

Customer Growth & Experience

• Build customer relationships that extend beyond a single transaction and strengthen long-term loyalty to Stress Free Auto Care.

• Identify opportunities to improve the customer experience that also create measurable business value through stronger retention, repeat visits, referrals, and increased customer lifetime value.

• Ensure customers receive clear, proactive communication and understand the value behind recommended services and repairs.

• Step into complex customer situations when needed and find solutions that protect both the customer relationship and the business.

Shop Operations

• Partner with the General Manager to maintain strong day-to-day shop execution.

• Coordinate across Service Advisors, technicians, and leadership to keep workflow moving efficiently and customer commitments on track.

• Use shop performance data and operating trends to identify issues early and take action before they become larger problems.

• Balance sales opportunities, customer needs, staffing, team capacity, and operational priorities when making business decisions.

• Take ownership of problems through resolution rather than waiting for direction or passing responsibility elsewhere.

What You Bring

• A demonstrated track record of driving sales, revenue, or business performance through individual contribution, team leadership, or ownership of a sales-driven operation.

• Experience leading a team in retail, sales, hospitality, automotive service, branch operations, or another fast-paced, customer-facing business.

• A commercial mindset-you naturally look for opportunities to increase revenue, improve conversion, retain more customers, develop new business, and strengthen the operation.

• Experience setting performance expectations, coaching against measurable KPIs, providing direct feedback, and holding employees accountable for results.

• Strong sales instincts, including discovery, value building, objection handling, and closing.

• The ability to look beyond today's transactions and identify opportunities to grow the customer base, build partnerships, and create sustainable revenue streams.

• Strong business judgment and the ability to balance sales opportunities, customer needs, team performance, and operational priorities.

• The initiative to create momentum rather than wait for direction-you identify opportunities, develop solutions, and stay engaged until the outcome is achieved.

• Comfort using performance data to understand what's working, diagnose gaps, and determine where action is needed.

• The ability to manage customers, employees, and competing business priorities in a fast-paced environment without sacrificing urgency or follow-through.

• A high degree of accountability, coachability, and ambition to take on increasingly complex business leadership responsibilities.

Automotive experience is valuable, but it isn't what defines our ideal candidate. We're looking for proven operators with strong sales instincts, leadership capability, and a history of producing measurable business results.

What We Offer

Compensation:

Base: $55,000 - $65,000

Bonus Potential: $6,000 - $22,000

Projected On Target Earnings: $61,000 - $87,000

This range includes salary and performance-based incentive compensation. Compensation at expected store performance begins near the lower end of the range. Earnings toward the upper end reflect above-goal store results and applicable
