A Mammography Technologist plays a critical role within a radiology team, specializing in performing general and diagnostic mammography procedures. This position involves preparing patients for imaging, operating mammography equipment, ensuring image quality, and maintaining radiation safety standards. The technologist contributes to early detection and diagnosis of breast conditions by producing high-quality mammographic images in a safe and compassionate manner.

 

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for mammography imaging procedures
• Operate imaging equipment for general and diagnostic mammography screenings
• Conduct image quality control to ensure diagnostic accuracy
• Maintain strict adherence to radiation safety protocols
• Collaborate effectively as part of a radiology team
• Provide patient care with attention to detail and clear communication

 

Required Qualifications

• State licensure for Radiologic Technologist

 

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical imaging
• Associate degree in Radiologic Technology or related field
• Proficiency in mammography imaging techniques
• Strong understanding of patient care and communication skills
• Knowledge of radiation safety and quality assurance practices
• Familiarity with medical terminology
• High attention to detail and technical proficiency
