Substitute Associate Teacher- Leave coverage

Convent and Stuart Hall is seeking excellent candidates for the role of Substitute Associate Teacher. This is a temporary position for leave coverage with a possibility of a continuing position. Associate Teachers are essential members of the Convent & Stuart Hall community. They not only form a special bond with their Lead Teacher, but also participate in all school activities as full faculty members. Their energy, enthusiasm, and new ideas are greatly valued at our school. The primary purpose of the Associate Teacher Program is to support our Lead Teachers and Lower Form students. Our community is part of an international network of Sacred Heart schools, where students and adults embrace the catholic charism of our Sacred Heart founders, which is spiritually inclusive and global in nature.The school is organized into four academic divisions, each led by a Division Head, sharing resources and a central administration, all of which is under the direction of the President.Schools of the Sacred Heart is committed to an in-person teaching model and faculty must be prepared to adhere to and support our Health and Safety Plan.Associate Teachers are assigned to a grade and section in kindergarten - fourth grade and are partnered with a Lead Teacher who mentors his/her development as an educator.Associate Teachers are expected to attend all faculty meetings and periodic pedagogical workshops given on campus.Under the guidance of the Lead Teacher and Division Head and through meetings and workshops designed specifically for our Associate Teachers, the Associate Teachers develop these important skills:building relationships with studentsobserving, assessing, and supervising studentspreviewing and selecting curricular materialsdeveloping appropriate and successful teaching methodsplanning and implementing lessonsmanaging students and classroomsconferencing and writing reportsjob searching and portfolio/resume developmentTo be considered candidates should submit a resume and cover letter displaying their qualifications in the following areas:Requires an undergraduate degree and relevant experience with children, classroom experience is preferred, but not required. An interest in pursuing a career in education with excellent writing and communication skills with both children and adults. History of collegiality and collaboration with other teachers and administrators. Requires experience using a wide range of instructional technology tools including iPads, laptops, and Google Apps. Must be detail-oriented, organized and willing to take initiative. Must have excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work well with students and adults. Must be a role model and maintain a high level of professionalism.
