Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) for a 13-week contract to provide specialized perioperative nursing care for patients undergoing cardiovascular and thoracic surgical procedures. The RN will collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care throughout the operative process. Candidates must have recent CVOR experience and be available for weekday, weekend, holiday, and emergency call coverage.

Requirements:

• Current RN license required (single-state or Compact)
• Minimum 1 year of CVOR experience required
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required (or willing to obtain within facility guidelines)
• Associate Degree or Diploma in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
• Epic EMR experience required
• Strong circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
• Knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures, sterile technique, and emergency response
• Excellent critical thinking, communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
• Ability to participate in weekday, weekend, holiday, and emergency call rotation

Unit Details:

Responsibilities include circulating and assisting during cardiovascular surgical procedures, preparing the operating room and surgical equipment, maintaining sterile technique, monitoring patient safety throughout surgery, anticipating surgeon and team needs, assisting with emergency cardiovascular procedures, documenting operative care accurately in Epic, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesia providers, perfusionists, and the interdisciplinary team, participating in infection prevention and quality improvement initiatives, responding to emergency call assignments, and delivering safe, evidence-based perioperative care for cardiovascular surgery patients.
